THESE ARE CALLED SEBACEOUS FILAMENTS. AND THEY ARE *MEANT* TO BE THERE.
Contrary to popular belief, these are not the same as blackheads.
Everyone has these. These are not hurting you, they are not sign of infection or poor hygiene and are not meant to be expelled from the body.
”Unlike blackheads, they cannot be removed and are a permanent part of the human skin. ”
Removal of these blackhead doppelgangers can cause the pores on your affected area to become enlarged, thus becoming susceptible to bacteria! The pores/channels will fill back up in a day or two anyways - blackheads don’t usually do this. Continued removal of the sebaceous filament can cause redness, irritation, and permanent scarring to the area.
Pore strips? NO!
Acidic oil-sucking skin-drying facial treatments? NOOO!
Mineral oil is your FRIEND! Small amounts rubbed into the affected areas. Read more about treatments here.
Again, these are perfectly normal and you should not be spending your time up-close in the mirror trying to get rid of them. You are only harming your skin and making it worse.
Good luck you beautiful sassy being, you.
